Enough of the Tiny House Hotel idea for now. I finally got tired of looking at the trailer and all the water damage this week. I had spent numerous days trying to figure what would be the best plan of attack when dealing with this much damage. At one point I was close to just saying screw it and tearing it down to the frame and starting from scratch. I decided on Monday that at the very least I should give the repairs option a chance before I took a sledge hammer to the whole damn thing.

So when Monday morning came along I still had no idea where to start. I took the advice of Teddy Roosevelt who said “the worst thing you can do is nothing” and I decided to just start tearing out the rotten boards and go from there. As a worked the problem became more manageable, start on one end and work my way back. The problem areas so far have been relatively easy to fix just very labor intensive. I have definitely put in the blood (from the random screw poking out of the wall) sweat (from the lack of air movement and intense heat in the shop) and beers (that I drink nightly to deal with an old and sore body) into this project already.

I have so far worked down to the wheel wells. This is also where there is the only floor board I am hoping to not replace is located. I still have the back end, which will be a bigger issue since I have to remove all the plumbing that goes through the floor. After the floor is finished I need to repair the water damage under the main window. I have to decide stylistically what I want to do here. I am going to have to remove the exterior siding, so I will probably raise the window, and install new siding to give the outside appearance a facelift.
